Hiking the Narrows in Zions/Flash Flooding

On Monday after my cousins Bachelorette Party in Vegas, Amanda and I decided to hike the Narrows in Zion National Park. It was a sunny day and we thought it was going to be great for hiking. Well, this is flash flood season and there is a moderate warning for flash flooding. The forest rangers said that if we see a gathering of clouds and/or thuder and lightening, get the hell out of the narrow passage. So almost to our destination, clouds started to gather. I wanted to get out but Amanda thought we should keep hiking. Well all of a sudden the clouds covered us and a HUGE clap of thunder sounded. We booked it out of that damn canyon that I thought we were walking on water. When we got to the shuttle, the rain started coming down in SHEETS. We were drenched but happy to be out of the canyon. We had to wait for the rain to slow before we could even get out of the shuttle to walk to our car. What a scary experience!!
